Newcastle United may be about to give Everton a multi-million dollar financial boost, the Daily Mail claims.

On Friday, December 8, the newspaper revealed on page 79 of its print edition that the Magpies still owe the Toffees possible add-ons totaling up to £5 million for the signing of Anthony Gordon.

The 22-year-old winger, who originally cost the Tyneside club £40 million to sign from the Blues in January, had a disappointing return to Goodison Park on Thursday, December 7, as his team lost 3-0.

Gordon was undoubtedly met with hostility from Everton supporters, which is understandable given that he was forced to leave the team earlier this year.

Even though he has been playing well for Newcastle this season, the Toffees academy product had a forgettable night as his team was crushed on Merseyside.

The English winger also squandered a fantastic opportunity to give the Magpies the lead early in the second half, but the Blues prevailed thanks to three late goals.

Even though the club doesn’t appear to be receiving a sizable infusion of cash, given their current precarious financial situation, they will gladly accept any additional funds.

While many will still be concerned about the off-field problems, Goodison Park is in much better shape now thanks to the players’ performances.
