Ange Postecoglou, the manager of Tottenham Hotspur, believes that Son Heung-min will want him to bring in a striker to increase competition for starting positions.

Harry Kane, a star striker for Tottenham, completed a high-profile transfer to German team Bayern Munich in August.

Instead of spending a lot of money on another centre forward, Spurs signed Nottingham Forest’s Brennan Johnson, an adaptable attacker.

With nine goals in 14 Premier League games this season, Son Heung-min has assumed a more prominent role as Tottenham’s striker.

Ange Postecoglou believes Son Heung-min will demand the addition of a striker to Tottenham’s roster.

The 31-year-old, who appeared a little off-color for a significant portion of the previous season, has returned to his best form this year.

Although youngster Alejo Veliz is probably not quite ready for the Premier League, Son still needs some attacking support.

As of late, Ange Postecoglou has stated to Football London that he intends to continue building around Son.

Postecoglou does point out that Tottenham might still choose to sign a different striker, which Son might find to be more encouraging.

Postecoglou thinks Son is likely not an exception to the rule that the best players always want to see more high-caliber recruits arrive.

Because elite players don’t like to feel at ease, Postecoglou is potentially opening the door for a striker signing in 2024.

“A great deal. Indeed. Indeed, he will play a crucial role in what we’re creating, but that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t sign Much obliged. Indeed. Indeed, he will play a significant role in what we’re constructing, but that doesn’t mean we wouldn’t sign a new striker because Postecoglou believes even Sonny would expect it of him. “My best players always want to see more good players in the building if you’re going to build a winning team.”

They don’t want to be comfortable, and they’re not comfortable. They don’t want to do nothing but sit there and declare themselves to be the man. They want to know that other players will be around them who are equally driven to succeed, and Sonny will undoubtedly play a significant role in that, he continued.

What attackers might Tottenham sign?

Even though they won’t have a lot of money to spend in January, Tottenham is still being linked to strikers.

Only a few days prior, there were rumours circulating that Tottenham was being courted to sign Stuttgart forward Serhou Guirassy.

This season, the Guinean forward has been unbelievable, and it’s believed that he has a release clause worth about £17 million.

Given the money involved, Guirassy might be a good fit for Tottenham, but there are other options as well.

After transfer talks at Tottenham towards the end of November, Feyenoord’s Santiago Gimenez remains a target.

At just 22, the Mexican would be more of a long-term option, but it would be far more expensive than Guirassy.

Even if it slightly reduces Son’s playing time, Postecoglou seems to think that Son will approve of a signing that Tottenham has in mind.
